CHARITY PR AND DIGITAL MARKETING AGENCY

Pretzel’s experts have been working with charities and not for profit organisations to help change lives and make a real difference for 20 years.

Charity Marketing

Many regional and national charities work tirelessly in the community and affect so many lives for the better, yet it’s often the case that the charities that do the most good, are so focused on charitable delivery, they have neither the time or resources to shout about the impact of their work.

In today’s competitive charity sector, connecting with supporters, stakeholders, service users and sharing your news, as well as showcasing the positive change you’ve brought about, is more important than ever to secure further funding and donations. In many situations too, generating column inches, TV appearances and digital awareness for your charity is an integral strand of successful funding applications.

With a team of PR and digital professionals who are well seasoned in marketing, PR and digital campaigns for the third sector, Pretzel can help champion your successes.

Pretzel will create a charity PR strategy that works for you, that adopts your tone of voice and reaches the audiences you need to speak to, but most importantly that delivers on the objectives of your organisation or a particular revenue stream.

Why choose us?

Pretzel has a wealth of experience working with charities and the third sector driving results that quite literally change lives.

Even with its tireless work with young LGBT+ communities, The Proud Trust as a charity remained relatively unheard of, that’s until it started working with team Pretzel. It needed to raise its profile as it fundraised for a mammoth total of £2.15m to rebuild the LGBT+ centre on Sydney Street in Manchester.

Pretzel won the tender to work with the charity initially for a four-month campaign. Four years later, The Proud Trust remains one of Pretzel’s longest-serving charity clients and they more than hit their target – so the centre is set to open very soon!

Pretzel devised a traditional and digital strategy to raise the charity’s profile regionally and nationally across consumer press (broadcast, print, online media and bloggers/influencers) as well as to attract business investment/funding in charity publications (Third Sector, Charity Times etc.) and business trade, regional and national media. Where and when the news was relevant, we targeted LGBT+ publications (DivaMag, Pink News etc.) to raise awareness among the LGBT+ community.

Four years later (due to pandemic push-backs!) the centre is set to open in a matter of months welcoming, supporting and changing the lives of thousands more youths across the country.

Furthermore, Pretzel’s experts have worked with one of the world’s most well-known football teams, Manchester United. The team had no issue generating media coverage for its successes on the pitch, but it was another story when it came to the club’s community and charitable activity, much of which was done under the radar and without a strategic approach.

To make communication easier, the decision was made to bring everything under one umbrella brand, and it was then that Manchester United Foundation was born.

Right from the initial launch of the charity, our experts oversaw the marketing and communications strategy for Manchester United Foundation. They were fundamental in setting up and running all channels of communication from social media platforms to a busy press office function, as well as ensuring it had a brand and tone of voice that was in line with key messaging from the football club.

The activity covered everything from huge stadium fundraisers with audiences of 65,000+, to high profile player visits to projects in the local community. However, it was finding real life case studies of young people who had completely turned their lives around through football, that often gave the best demonstration of the charity’s work in the media.

SEO

Just like many other businesses, it’s important for charities and non-profit organisations to beat the competition and be visible at the top of the search results. We can help you identify the perfect keywords and optimise your website to attract potential donors and service users.

Paid Advertising

A paid advertising campaign can provide an extremely cost-effective way of promoting your charity. Whether you’re after fundraising, more service users or just want to increase awareness of your charity then our team of PPC experts can help get your ads in front of the right people.

Web Development

A website is often the first impression a potential donor, service user or volunteer has of your organisation. We can help make this a memorable impression by building a lightning fast and good-looking website that suits your organisations requirements.

Content Marketing

The power of putting a human face to the charity work your organisation does can’t be underestimated, but when it’s backed up with data and analytics that show trends within society, that’s when your content really takes off. We know what content to produce and where to put it.
We approached Pretzel, with an ambition of upping our reach and raising our profile within the press. The team did not disappoint. As a charity, with most staff working on part time hours and working remotely, we needed someone who could meet us, quickly understand us, and then independently act in our best interests. Pretzel delivered on every goal we set out and we have continued to work with them long after our initial project.
